Update on Kentex Fire Incident in Valenzuela City

The PNP together with other government agencies and the local government unit of Valenzuela City is continuously coordinating to ensure the fast investigation and identification of the victims’ bodies.
As of June 4, 2015, 60 bodies have been identified out of the 69 recovered bodies making the DNA process as one of the fastest in Philippine history. Comparative samples are being acquired for the remaining 9.
Likewise, personnel from Valenzuela City Police Station and DSWD officials are continuously assisting the families in the processing of Death Certificates and filing up of IRF. The families were given three (3) options in the disposition of the remains as follows: cremation, transfer, or be permanently buried at Arkong Bato Public Cemetery.
Nonetheless, the PNP assures the families of the victims and the public that it will do its utmost effort to fast track the identification of the body of the remaining victims.
Furthermore, the PNP continues to appeal to the remaining victims’ families for patience as they await the results of the DNA tests as well as the investigation being administered by the Special Inter-Agency Task Force.
